I started this book in paperback in Chapter 5 Year and lost in the school bus. I do not know much about him and what I can remember being a little confused.

Here goes:

I remember the main character is a child and I think he lives with his grandmother. At the beginning (I think) who played on a large rock and there is a jump. The interior of the crack leads to an abandoned underground kingdom with a flood of gold. I'm pretty sure we talked about lizards or something around the crack.
The next part I remember something about a magic magazine. The person, he wrote a kind of creative, writing in his diary, he created a world and society.

That may or may not be a book in a series.

The only detail I remember on the cover of the book implies. It was tan / t gold, and had a turn, raised the emblem of a kind on the cover.

I want to find in this book and read. Help is welcome!
